INFANTILE ACNE

Acne can occur at 3-12 months or even 18-24 months. Unlike neonatal acne, comedones and scar development and rarely nodule formation are in question. It is more common in male babies. Androgen production is blamed in its pathogenesis. If there are no other signs of hyperandrogenism, there is no need for endocrinological examination. Situations that may be confused with acne should be kept in mind and differential diagnosis should be made. Benzoyl peroxide and / or topical retinoids are recommended for treatment. In more severe cases oral erythromycin can be used and in very severe cases oral iDotretinoin can be used.
